Re: Whit's fur tea?

Chicken burrito. Sadly not flying like its brothers once did, but you can't have everything and it was nice as it was.

Re: Edinburgh

As its days are now officially numbered, I thought I’d have a nosy at New St Andrew’s House and the upper reaches of the St James Centre – not long for this earth, even though the demolition keeps getting put back. It’s a concrete Thing That Should Not Be! There’s some part of me that’s almost sorry...

Re: Dumfries and Galloway and that

By way of comparison. Actual summer type goings on: http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb282/LuckyPoet/F51A3393-141_zpsdzaptknr.jpg http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb282/LuckyPoet/F51A3397-145_zpse7pkmls3.jpg But to balance things out, there's always some gloomy black & white: http://i204.pho...

Re: random question

One begins to understand why only 15,000 volunteers made the cut for the Commonwealth games out of 50,811 applications. One wonder how many couldn't couldn't complete an application form. One wonders where you're coming from with such a mean-spirited comment. One also wonders why we didn't bite the...

Re: Edinburgh

Leith Walk is great, as is Leith itself. Well worth an explore, Bridie.

Re: Here Be Dragons - The Coatbridge Walk - Sat 28th March 2

Nothing wrong with them thar photos, ye know. We survived it all though, with no dragons encountered. There was this though - a raffle prize? A piss-take raffle prize? Who knows, but it sat on top of the first pub's jukebox: http://i204.photobucket.com/albums/bb282/LuckyPoet/F51A1777-1_zpswsznntrh.j...

Too bad, man. Though reading this:

It doesn't look too promising. No matter - as you say, banjo, if nothing else there's the whisky bar :)

Re: Glasgow railways... if..

In some parallel universe, there exists a Glasgow with exactly that rail system :)

(Though I can't quite work out how St Enoch could be made into a through station in the way that that suggests. Still, a nice thought.)

Re: Clyde/Thames Wetlands Archaeology

Hi Jock, I must confess it crossed my mind that the land has been rising here (I'm assuming 'isostatic adjustment' and 'post-glacial rebound' amount to the same thing). For myself, it's not that it's not a subject of interest - it is! It's that I know very little of it, and don't feel that I can con...

Re: Bing! (West Lothian)

I can't see it having the same attraction, somehow. Though, give it a hundred years and who knows? The original shale mining people might have thought it very odd that we'd be taking any interest in what they were up to. It's maybe like photos - snapshots of what seems like any uninteresting scene c...
