Wanted: recovered Victorian door

Bizarre request, but does anyone know where I can buy any traditional Victorian doors, recovered/salvaged from renovated/demolished houses?

Re: 998 Great Western Road

The Hives family were involved in a recent property dispute . I was told that I spent many hours in 998 Gt. Western Road as an infant. My parents know the place inside out and could describe just about every aspect of the house. Bizarre that I can't remember it at, although I've always maintained a ...

Whichever enigmatic figure owns this property, he/she is an arsehole for allowing its decay.

Re: Sighthill - Fountainwell Place Demolition

What's to happen with the other God-awful towerblocks in the surroundings of the ones that were demolished just there?

Re:

The original building you refer to that was demolished was an old mansion house called 'Broomhill'. It was used for a time by the electricity board. Is there any more information on this mansion house? I'd be interested to hear more. I'm presuming the photo posted by Lone Groover (immediately above...

Two of these bad lads just passed over my house with a thunderous cacophony - any idea what's going on?

Re: tunnels

Looking at the video, I'm assuming this is Glasgow Cross?

Re: Past Present Vol 2

While we're on the subject of St Vincent Street, can anyone tell me what happened to this neo-classical building (close-up, inset)? I think I asked about this before, and it may have been in response to Fossil, who posted a colour image of St Vincent Street looking west, circa 1960. Tim It got flat...

Re: Rotundas and Tunnel

great pictures, in the early 70's when me and my brother were driving our poor mother insane our dad would take us out for 'adventures'...one of which was a trip through the old tunnel. There was a string of lights, 100W bulbs about 20 feet apart right through the tunnel. We were sworn to secrecy, ...

Re: Past Present Vol 2

I have this photo of the church, I think it is called Terrace Street. Not the location of the photo but maybe a better point of view of where it may have been taken. Source unknown... Glasgow's Last Days of Steam

Can't find a copy of this in Waterstones or Borders of late - was wondering if it's worth purchasing.

If you've got a copy, can you PM me?

Cheers

Things to do in Glasgow when you're dead

...not really, but can anyone suggest something to do on Hallowe'en in this fair City? My bird has charged me with coming up with something different/spooky to do in the evening (and I've already made the "put the willies up you" joke) before we go and see a classic horror film later on. S...

Re: Old Maryhill Station

You're not suggesting the Skoda buidling is nice , are you? It's not the nicest building in the world, but it's at least in keeping with the historical character of the site. The new, multi-level development will change this. 1926 http://www.geocities.com/ogrishfiles2004/cldr1926.gif 2004 http://ww...
