Re: Old Cars etc Spotted

Volunteer here, At Cappercleuch on the A708 from Traquair to Selkirk you'll find this Grade “B” Listed Building. Worth a read on the internet.

Couldn't resist a photo shoot.

The rear shot shows in the background the War Memorial to World War One Dead.

Re: Animalz & Burdz

Volunteer here, Travelling up and down the M74 Motorway the Annandale Services is a favourite halt. In daylight hours a coffee and a look at the wildlife on the loch. The other morning just after 3.00 a.m. spotted these characters wandering in the forecourt. Not a care in the world. Curious as to wh...

Re: Old Cars etc Spotted

Volunteer here, well spotted arthuy. A Six Wheeled Hustler Kit Car dressed up as an Ice Cream Van. Having built a wooden body four wheel Hustler and driven it for two years your post has caused a rush of memories. BTJustice well spotted the SHA 110M plate. Peace and prosperity. Today's post is a Dog...

Re: Animalz & Burdz

Volunteer here, Worth the spool by the looks of it Neilmc.

Looks like these Gulls have you in their sights for a Bombing Run.

Nice part of the country too. I've spent some time at Rothiemurchus Lodge. Walked the length of the Lairig Ghru from Braemar back towards Aviemore. One day out to remember.

Re: Animalz & Burdz

Volunteer here, You're correct Boxer6. I should have included I don't take bread to ponds for the birds. At home the Bird Feeder seed ball cage is always topped up and that attracts some local birds to dine. Nice selection of Blue Tits, Finch's occasionally, Robins, Sparrows and Starlings. When I Go...

Re: Animalz & Burdz

Volunteer here, I too live with a cat Doorstep. A mature female cat named Spice. I also keep a list of females not to be argued with, her names on that list, pretty close to the top. Today's pictures are from the Canal Basin at Skipton, Yorkshire. On the route of the Leeds Liverpool Canal. Shouldn't...

Re: Oddities

Volunteer here, I'd like to know where the cats were sited too please.

Today's Picture. Along the Auchincarroch Road, Alexandria I spotted the sign in the picture. Sounds good to me and a polite way of asking traffic to slow down and take care.

Re: Oddities

Volunteer here, Oddities right enough Vinegar Tom. Today's post is from Dunoon on the ever developing Clyde Coast. I enjoy a trip Doon the Watter on the Paddle Steamer Waverley in the Summer time. Re: Oddities

Volunteer here, Thanks banjo, I'd never heard of the Stereo Twins but I have now. Being Musically Challenged I have limited knowledge on matters music. I was thrown out of a choir once. The Choir Master said it was my attendance but he was just being kind. MacotheIsles, I didn't see the Dolly Parton...

Re: Oddities

Volunteer here, Nice to see your post DickyHart. Takes me back to my childhood. The Savings Bank of Glasgow issued a metal savings bank with dedicated slots for coins of the realm. Needed a key to open it, no jammy knife would work. A very good friend of mine educated me on some history of the Savin...

Re: Old Cars etc Spotted

Volunteer here, the Jowett Jupiter is stunning neilmc. Very few of these cars made by Jowett. Where I grew up a neighbour drove a Jowett Javelin. It stood out from the crowd with the design lines and style. Makes me smile to think of the place name for the Jowett Factory was Idle near Bradford, curi...

Re: Pillar Boxes

Volunteer here, just picked up on arthuy's post. I very much like AMcD's earlier pic “posted” of the EVIIIR Post Box, so rare. Here is a pic of an unusual model. South of Stobo Castle on the B712 just after the road crosses the Rio Tweed near Bells Pool there is the Dawyck Botanic Garden, worth a vi...

Re: Old Cars etc Spotted

Volunteer here, thank you BTJustice. What you don't see in the rear compartment is the model car of the same vehicle. Seems to be a trend among some Classic car Owners. Today's pics are the Google Map Car trawling round East Kilbride one day. I don't own a Satnav, not for me. Managed quite well for ...

Re: Old Cars etc Spotted

Volunteer here, Very nice examples neilmc. The alloys don't do much for me but it's a free choice. Spotted in Castleton, West York’s a nice VW Caravanette. It is wearing Alloys too where steel wheels and hub caps went before. Also the near side front wheel has an auxiliary hand brake, there is somet...
