Perhaps some of the Lanarkshire chaps can help with this: I was told that Strathclyde park was built on an old mineing village.I saw a picture in a magazine years ago that confirmed this.As far as I can see they built up the sides of the man made 'Loch' and diverted the River Clyde through the main ...

THe arch that stands in front of the High Court was part of the doorway to the Glasgow assembly rooms, they were in the site of the old G.P.O. building that stands in George Sq.Not sure what date it was moved there
I think The present building was built 1890ish.

The small pond was Tadpole heaven and I sill have frogs return to my small pond each year from tadpole jelly collected there 15 years ago!

Although the stone circle at the top of camp hill is known as the Roman camp,I have read that they were left by road builders around c!900
kind of spoils the impression
