Re: Farme Castle and Coal Mine

Hi Big G,

You probably searched already but Google images has a few images of the castle and the colliery. On the plus point the Newcomen engine from the colliery has been preserved at the Summerlee Heritage Park so you can inspect it first hand.
Good luck with the project

Re: Tower Block Demolitions - Rolling Updates!

From what I have heard from GHA / Wheatley, the current demolition programme is complete. The blocks at Sighthill and Toryglen were the last planned demolitions for now.

Re: Urbex

A tricky one. Would they say if they did? I don't, but I think people are against publicising locations which could subsequently "went on" fire?

Re: Sauchiehall Street after GSoA fire.

The West end of Suachiehall Street has taken a bit of a pounding sice the fire (and not helped by Glasgow City Council's streetscaping works which coincided). There are a couple of vacant premises in the block next to The Variety Bar and a few more across the road which have been empty long enough t...

Re: What are you watching?

Just finished the 2nd series of Black Lake. It's one of those dramas where you don't notice the sub-titles, which makes it gripping in my book.

Re: Asda and Lidl own label beer

They must also brew Tesco own brand Kestrel Lager because it is brewed "at a site adjacent to Glasgow Cathedral". And it is pretty good, not like the Kestrel Lager from the old days.

Re: Links to funny, cool or interesting stuff

It might look that way just now Mr Cabbage, but just wait till yesterday evening.

Most of the regulars here are off on interstellar travels or creating time travel related temporal paradoxes.

I think? Otherwise they have been away for a long time.

Re: Bombs over Glasgow in WW2

Hi Marc1888, I am sure there are plenty of occasional visitors here, and I certainly am, who would be interested in your research. What a subject for a Masters & PhD! Are you aware of the Youtube metal detector who regularly finds AA shell fagments along the Clyde coast?
