Re: Glasgow East By-election

Ok, well I'm entitled to my right to reply. Well in my personal experience the standard of education that I received at my denominational secondary FAR excelled that of the non-denominational I attended in ALL respects. Even just comparing with friends I have who went to (other) non-denoms in the ar...

Re: Glasgow East By-election

thecell , reading your comments it is clear that you have no experience whatsoever in denominational schools. They do not only promote Catholocism but all major religions, indeed this is a very large part of the religious curriculum and not entirely unlike that found in non-denoms. Granted there is...

Re: Glasgow East By-election

I went to school in the east end, first to a non-demoninational secondary school, then to a RC secondary school as a result of moving house. The non-demoninational was demolished wthin 3 years and the RC had a waiting list from before I went, and it wasn't for no good reason. So anyone who suggests ...

Re: Glasgow East By-election

I honestly don't see the Catholic Church's views having much bearing on any voter in Glasgow East (or anywhere in Scotland for that matter). It's been quite interesting watching all this unfold, and there's still much to play for, but I think Labour will scrape through with a marginal majority. I ju...

Re: Glasgow East By-election

Yeah him, whatever innit. You misunderstand the point of my post. I did state it was a facile observation and not in any way a slight against his character or ability. The canddates relative ages isn't the issue, its the SNP winning votes that is, and yurr mans age will be a deterrant, or rather a s...

Re: Glasgow East By-election

I think SNP have made abit of a blunder putting Tom Mason up as their candidate. He's too old in a purely facile sense. What I mean by that is he is not young enough to appeal to the younger voters who don't and won't vote Labour just because their parents did, and he has little chance of changing t...

Re: Wartime Glasgow--Excluding bombing.

http://www.bluestarline.org/arandora.html no-ones asking any of you to pay for it so what the hell is the problem? Re: Glasgow East By-election

ho ho ho its gonna be a toughy for Labour alright. And what a kick in the gut it'll be if they lose. Especially if it's to the SNP. You never know though, Solidarity might just pull a fast one ...err... ::):

Herald City’s oldest surviving road found by archaeology dig in Pollok Park The ancient pathways pounded by St Mungo as he built his church at the tiny fishing settlement called Glas Gu are positively futuristic by comparison. After lying concealed by vegetation and woodland for what may be almost ...

Re: Hidden Glasgow is shite

The thing with HG is that it is what YOU make it. When it started it was just a blank forum and a lot of us put a lot of time and thought into populating them. Now though, it seems we cant do right for doing wrong, and I for one am sick of being second-guessed by people who think they know better. W...
