I've been hill walking for years and I've still not found a pair of antlers.

Even if I did I can just imagine Skye - Glasgow bus driver saying "You can't bring those on here!"

I almost stopped for one of those charity people in the street today. Almost.

Obviously the girl was quite nice...

OK thanks guys.

Bit annoying cos I walked past W H Smith about 15 minutes now I'll have to walk right down Buccie again.

Moss Brothers sounds the cheapest so I'll go there after that!

Looking for a photo album in Glasgow

As the title suggests I'll looking for a photo album in Glasgow. I'd like it to be a nice one but at the same time I don't have a huge amount of money to spend (£20-£25-£30). It would have to have at least 50 pages and be able to hold quite large prints (mostly 9 x 6). Any suggestions as to where I ...

Once, when I told an American I was from Scotland he asked me in all seriousness if I lived in a castle.

Independent music in Glasgow isn't dead yet. Avalanche is going strong, and is more independent than ever since freeing itself from the shackles of Edinburgh back in October, and Monorail and Volcanic Tongue are definitely alive and well and must be a couple of the best and most interesting record ...

Wasn't it a guy called Stephen Clarkson that actually decked the attacker.

You ask me this Smeeton character is getting too much of the credit.

My brother was at the airport in the departure lounge. Their holiday has now been cancelled and they've been told they will have to walk to Paisley to get transport. Could be worse I suppose but last year they got caught in Hurricane Katrina when they went to Cancun and spend most of the holiday hud...

I was actually depressed when I heard the news. No disrespect to Lost In Music (which will be the only 'new' record shop near Byres Road now when once there were 5 or 6) but they don't exactly stock a lot of new releases and particularly the more obscure stuff. Also, Union Street will officially be ...

Central London is attrocious in summer. Smells like lukewarm garbage which is probably what it is.

Memories In Stone

Little piece by John Gray, one of the more interesting writers at the moment, which I felt would be of interest to Hidden Glasgow 'types'! MEMORIES IN STONE Conservationalists lament the passing of wild places, but cities too are endangered ecosystems. Since Neolithic times, when they first began to...

West Endie Photo Request

This is kind of a long story but basically I lived down in London for a while and I met a girl there and we've stayed in touch for a long time. A wee while back I noticed that a tanning parlour on Great Western Road has pictures of a girl in an orange (i think) bikini all over the windows and the gi...
