Your very well drawn symbol there is a surveyors mark or datum line - a point from which measurements of a building are taken. The pub mirror one sounds like the British Standards Kite Mark.

No probs Cumbo. Having a ladies waiting room wasn't so uncommon back then and many passenger (including train) companies would have them, mostly for their first class passengers.

Naw'n'aye Cumbo. The waiting room isn't listed (not even the slightest NMRS record for it!) but the Jamaica, or Glasgow Bridge is, category B.

ok, so I went and checked for myself ... :roll: The old TSB facade is still standing, if a little precariously, so it looks like you were right Socceroo. The leaded, stained and cut glass windows have been smashed for scaffolding but at least it's something. Another something is that it looks as tho...

Thats the fellur, all gone now though. Quite austere from the outside but nicely detailed and proportioned. The inside was where it was at though. Was no reason it couldn't have become a pub or something

Hawl you! I hope you're not disparaging my home turf? :twisted: But now that you ask, I suppose Shettleston is being demolished - the old (very fine!) TSB on Shettleston Rd has also been demolished these last few weeks for the poxiest looking housing I've seen in a long time. If it had been anywhere...
