Re: Tall Ships - Greenock - 9th to 12th July 2011

Kilmacolm road was jumping tonight with the firework display which was really good. 8)

Lyle hill will be mobbed no doubt, if you are getting the train I still think the esplanade or battery park will be worth the venture.

Re: Tall Ships - Greenock - 9th to 12th July 2011

We went yesterday.

Weather was great, good entertainment and good atmosphere.

Location was very cramped in places and could have done with a bit of tidying up underfoot where the mud was.

Looking forward to Monday night and Tuesday lunch time!

Anyone else go?

Re: demolished

Quarrybrae Primary school.

If the building is in a bad condition, sometimes more economical to bring it to the ground..

Re: Construction Sites

I can't see much changing certainly in residential building for a while. Although more houses are needed all over I don't think anyone will risk it. A report in the news over here talked about the surplus projects mainly housing and mainly in the South that have either not started or are semi built...

Re: Construction Sites

I have work on both of these projects and to be honest there aint much out there right now.

The number of folk coming to site to try and find work is quite alarming.

Hope he finds something soon.

Re: Don't Blink or You'll Miss It. (Maybe)

Go to the island of Arran (Scotland in miniature) perhaps. It's expensive to take a car over on the ferry though. There are a couple of stone cirlces on Arran and ruined castles etc. You can wild camp in Glen Etive if going north, or Mennock pass if going south. If brave you could attempt the short...
