Question Time back in Glagow

Question Time is back in Glasgow on Thursday 1st December. I was at the last one, and really enjoyed it. Well worth going along to vent on your pet peeve (so long as it's topical or can be made to seem so  ) Registration and info are at http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/question_time/3117...

I can't make it out either, but it'd make sense if it said "on Bedford Lane", since the sign itself is on Main street, and there appears to be a wee stick-out sign over the entrance looking down the lane!

Very cool pics all of you - this is an excellent thread.

When you say that the images don't display, does the rest of the page or do you get no output at all? IE, when the PHP script finishes, do you get a web page with an almost-blank space (just an X) where the picture should be? If so, it's worth doing a show source on the results and looking at what a...

Lunar Jetman and Paradroid eh? A man of taste :) It's well worth checking out the Lunar Jetman remake (and loads of others too) at http://retrospec.sgn.net/game-overview.php?link=ljm if you haven't already... My own favourites: http://www.retrogames.co.uk/stock/assets/images/1Spec_-_Atic_atac.jpg At...

It wouldn't even work for most PBXs, as you usually have to hit recall and then 9 (for example) in order to connect an existing call to an outside line, certainly not "press any key". Many larger organisations' PBXs also have safeguards against tying an incoming outside line call back out to another...

Radiance: Festival of Light

Saw this on the evening times today and thought it might be of interest. The city can look stunning when lit up at night, and it looks as though the council are having their own little festival from the 25th to 27th of November. Sorry if this is a silly question, but doesn't the Yoker/Renfrew ferry still operate? I've seen signs for it in passing through Yoker, and thought it was a bit anachronistic, but the SPT website still has info for it! http://www.spt.co.uk/Travel/ferries.html

Just got back from it, and had a great time. Definite stand-outs were New Order and the Prodigy.

Idlewild

Definitely Idlewild for me at the moment. They're really growing on me, especially after their excellent accoustic set at the Tsunami relief thingy.

I'm just annoyed I'll be missing them at Barrowlands, as I've gone and booked a holiday for the same time. Bleh!

Maglevs

I remember reading in new scientist that China already has one of these, and has plans to build a much bigger one. A quick google threw up this: http://edition.cnn.com/2005/BUSINESS/01/25/china.maglev.reut/ I agree that it's unlikely to happen if the Government (central or local) are involved though...

This is what's really under GRI... a service level! :) I wondered if there was access to the bothwell street/pitt street tunnel ( http://www.hiddenglasgow.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=135 ) from under the medical block of the old royal infirmary. There's one of those protected grey vent boxes at the e...
