Ah the memories...great photos Sharon. Particularly like Number 14 - how much do they NOT look like marines? The most I remember about it was that while I was trying to get immersed in the set up and just enjoy myself, some lanky kid with a pizza face kept saying 'Ahm gonna pure batter the shite out...
Readin' Bill Brysons Short History of Nearly Everything...s'brilliant. Getting totally freaked out by how little anybody REALLY knows about anything. He keeps it pretty light so you're head doesn't hurt too much, and he uses analogies that help you just about grasp the concepts. Worth a look anyways.
All these kinda arguments came up with ma mates in Ireland...but the law still came in. I'm just wonderin' if Scotland'll roll over and play ball too. Pubs have suffered a bit in atmosphere, but cafes and restaurants are definately much better with no smoke. There's also an interesting 'smoker at th...
When did you work in Brunwicks DM? Because you may well know my flatmates! Small city and all that... Maybe I do at that Sharon...the damage to my lungs was done between 95 - 98, and the candles probably didn't help either. Despite that, got the fondest of memories of the wee stinkhole still. If th...
Cumbo has a point - my favourite old boozer in Dublin now could certainly do with some deodorant for the old fellas that sit there all day. But I'm basically for the ban. Never smoked but got a major smokers laugh from working in good old Brunswick cellars for years - probably got terminal lung canc...
http://www.theherald.co.uk/politics/23171.html Mconnell was over here in Dublin yesterday, and must have enjoyed his smoke free pint very muchly. He's thinkin' 'maybe we should too'. Can you imagine coming home from a night out in Glasgow, and not reekin' of smoke? I thought the Oirish would have fo...
Used to work in Littlewoods in Parkheid in the distant and horrifying past, and I sold Elaine C. Smith a bargain pack of extra large knickers...
Enjoy them Mary Doll.
AH - now here's a strand after my own 'geek' comic loving heart...one thing I've always loved about Alan Grant is that he always manages to squeeze some Scottishness into his work. He used to do Strontium Dog for 2000AD and there was a character called 'Mad Middenface MacNulty' who used to come out ...
Found a solid gold wedding band on a beach in Hawaii once. Thought 'Someones either freakin' out that they've lost it, or thrown it away thinkin' good riddance' Handed it in to the cops, thinkin' i was doin' good. 3 months later got a letter saying nobody collected it and I could have it, but I'd ha...
This sounds like a great idea.
A nice wee distraction for a bored designer. get the creative juices flowin' n' all that. Glad it's not restricted to just Glasgow Sharon, I'm not back over there till September.
