Caledonia Books does indeed have that attitude I've found. I think it might be made worse by the narrowness of the main entrance bit, so you can't really get space to look about, but the staff are a bit odd yeah. Not Glasgow related but there's a great bookshop in Stirling, inside this wee arcade th...

While this isn't a phonetic case, it's definitely something which has a weird restriction to about a radius of 5 miles of the Trongate. Stank. Try it on people and see what they say. The typical reaction I get when using it in a sentence is complete and utter bemusement. I woulda never thunk it, but...

Heh. I know what you mean about the first pic. It was a random hipslinging type thing, and one of the things I like about it is the lack of a focused object, but still having some unity through the descent of the skyline. As for the Liv Tower penthouse - this was indeed true til a couple of years ag...

I really like this :) It's taking something ordinary and using it out of context to create something new. Looks like some sort of tiling, like you'd see in an old underground station or something...

Three or four things going on at the moment (in a post-exam induced mass-reading project) Slaughterhouse Five - Kurt Vonnegut - read Cat's Cradle a wee while ago, and this one was in a pile of old books I found among my stuff. I love the narrative voice, lots of echoes and repetition and stuff. Have...

amateurish glasgow pics and an introduction

Hello all. Just discovered this site after coming across the UE site thru Neil Gaiman's blog on the Chernobyl Ghost Town site. I think I've got different interests to the way this site works - I do find the hidden aspects of Glasgow fascinating, but I think I'm more interested in the embracing of ur...
