Got to echo the recommendation of Frankie and Benny's - the other half and I went and both had 3 courses + two drinks and rolled out having paid £40. Now that aint half bad for Saturday night and the food was superb! Favourite italian though has to be Andiamo in Giffnock. Bit more pricey but the mus...

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the Albion Way just up from what was the "Wine Alley" in Govan. It's known jokingly as "The Stab Inn"....well dodgy. 8O

I was 8 yrs old at the time and my memories are also a bit hazy. However I do remember not being allowed on the Coca-Cola roller, I think that was moved to a theme park abroad. I'm sure one of the rotundas was used as toilet facilities. Anyone remember the Clydesdale bank tower? It was pretty close ...

I'd be interested to know when the pics were taken! I notice on the panorama of the town centre that Clydebank FC's ground is still there - it's now a McDonalds and Room 2 shopping area, such a shame that the senior club has bitten the dust. I work at the business park across kilbowie road which doe...

What the hell kind of rules are they? No swearing? No personal info? Half of us have met each other already. I was talking about a regular IRC channel, not some kiddie-friendly web-chat thing where you get booted off for saying "arse". Perhaps I should install an IRCd on one of my spare Unix comput...

As a person who used to host on UKChat.com I reckon that a chatroom aint a bad idea, and generally takes pressure off a forum such as this. In terms of safety issues, the usual code of conduct would be mandatory i.e. no advertising, no swearing, NO SHOUTING and no personal info. I would say that a s...

My God you are joking!!!! Whatever next? I cannot believe Glasgow City Council have passed this - it looks completely ridiculous next to the tolbooth and is hardly inkeeping with the surrounding buildings. What the hell are they doing? First they try to turn George Square into red square and now thi...

What about the Singer Clock? I heard that after it was dismantled all these years ago it has completely disappeared without a trace. I thought (like a lot of people) that one of the clock faces was to be kept at a local park and the internal workings were to be kept at a local library. If this is th...

I'm involved with Hospital radio and can confirm that Canniesburn has been off our list of hospitals served for over a year. There was even a cupboard there in which we stored some of our gear which has had to be cleared.

As for the Kilmarnock stank cover, with me being originally from Ayr it doesn't surprise me that Killies are associated with gutters! Careful now! Killie born and bred :P. Fancy that, somebody fae Ayr slagging Killie :D . Don't dis the Glenfield though, they built a cracking wave machine in the Aul...

"On the subject of Chinese names there used to be one in Halfway called The Ming Inn also Cambuslang had The Man Kee." Aye class Fossil! I'm sure there's one in Shawlands called the "Wong Way" . Kind of ironic because I noticed it whilst on a driving test! Funnily enough I passed! What about the one...

Am I right in thinking that the concrete lampposts picture was taken at what was South Nitshill or thereabouts?

How about the original Govan Police station on Orkney Street? It's been lying derelict since about 1998 when it was used temporarily as a radio station in which I was involved. The cell block still lies intact and seemingly has held a few famous criminals in its time as well as no doubt a good numbe...
