How to find information about Public Houses in 1830's

Hello, My ancestor was Robert Christie, a witness in the Cotton Spinner Trials of 1838. Robert owned two public houses being one opened on Hosptial St, Glasgow, about 1835. He also closed his second one located at Hutcheson St, Glasgow, on 29 Jul 1837. I'm not 100% sure on the names, but I think one...
