Re: One for the railway heads

Turn up and go, although avoid travelling at peak times with a bike as space is limited

Re: Let Glasgow Flourish- Coat Of Arms

Just something I managed to do in work recently. The eagle eyed amongst you will note its inspired by the logos that appear on bus shelters across the city. Took some photos, imported them into Autocad and traced the outline, then with the help of some colleagues, we sent the file to the Laser Profi...

Re: Mystery Tunnel in Partick

The embankment wall has been deteriorating for the past 4 - 5 years, as a result of scour damage by the flow of the river at that point weakening the foundation of the wall.

The "mysterious" tunnel is probably just a storm drain outflow into the Kelvin.

The Vale (Dundas Street)

Just found out, The Vale Bar is calling last orders, for the last time at the end of the month.

Scotrail Alliance have signed a four year lease.

Apparently it's to be converted to a temporary booking office on the ground floor, with staff accommodation on the first floor

Re: One for the railway heads

I used to get this train between 1966 and 1974 Bellgrove to Charing Cross.( to school) I've just noticed the number 15 on the front. What did that signify and did the Springburn bound trains have another? The number 15 indicates the destination and the type of service/route eg Express, Stopping, Vi...

Re: One for the railway heads

Got this on ebay this week http://i11.photobucket.com/albums/a190/Tarkyhitch/signal%20box%202_zpstszt8pwe.jpg purely because it shows the old signal box which used to stand just west of Dalmuir Station. It made the nameless back ally which runs between Dunn Street and Scott Street seem all the spoo...

Anyone know what happened?

Someone dialled 999 because someone else presumably required urgent medical attention?

Re: Tower Block Demolitions - Rolling Updates!

From what I've seen from online footage two of the blocks failed to impact as planned following the detonation of the explosive charges, leaving the guys from safedem with a couple of unwanted stauners (as they say in Glasgow)

Re: Police Convoy

When I've been getting a lift back to Glasgow from Edinburgh at night the past few weeks I've seen similar convoys coming off the A(M)8 at the Shotts cut off over the last few weeks at around 5pm - half a dozen out riders, couple of traffic cars and 4x4s with the G4s minibus, can only assume it's to...
