Re: Am I the only one?

Have we done folk giving their kids weird names lately?

A Facebook friend has just had a baby girl, and her and hubby have named her - wait for it - Atari.

Re: Workplace Hates

Things are all sorted with the job centre. Just keep my nose clean, do my jobsearch, and don't make waves. Don't ask me why, but I'm getting the feeling I'll be back at work by mid May. There's a two month backlog of Scanning, so I'm assuming the higher ups will want to get shot of the bulk of that ...

Re: HG Movie Critique.

At the Britannia Panopticon music hall on Wednesday night, I saw a trio of Laurel & Hardy films - Below Zero (1930). Double Whoopee (1929). Our Relations (1936). Spleen if they repeat this can you let me know! Very envious! Love The Keaton! Keep an eye on the Panopticon's website mate -https://w...

Re: Workplace Hates

On Monday morning, when my alarm goes of at 6am, I will take great pleasure in switching it off, turning over, and going back to sleep for a couple of hours. :)

Re: Workplace Hates

Had a wee chat with our nice HR lady and got a couple of things clarified. Yes - it's only temporary. Yes - I will get a call to come back as soon as the work starts coming in. So, meantime, square things with the job centre, keep my head down, treat my time off as a wee holiday to recharge my batte...

Re: Workplace Hates

Thanks Dot.

My plan is to go to the pub for a couple of hours after work and have a bevvy or three to console myself.

Re: Workplace Hates

Well, that'll be me on the dole again come the end of my shift on Friday afternoon.

Lack of actual work at work means folk are getting paid off.

They say it'll only be temporary, and that things might kick up next month (meaning May), but I'm not gonna hold my breath.

Re: What are you watching?

Getting caught up on the last two episodes of The Apprentice. There was a belter of a line from Karen Brady on the episode from a fortnight ago. At the beginning of the task, she tells the teams, "Come and collect your tablets.", (meaning iPads). I KNEW IT! Those arseholes are on medicatio...

Re: HG Movie Critique.

At the world famous Britannia Panopticon Music Halls in Glasgow yesterday afternoon, I saw - Sherlock Jr. (1924), starring Buster Keaton. Alice's Day at Sea (1924), a very early Disney short and part of the "Alice Comedies" (also known as the "Alice in Cartoonland" series), combi...

Re: HG Movie Critique.

I've not been to the pictures in ages, not since I saw "The Beekeeper" back in January. Which was a total hoot BTW. Yer man Jason Statham kicking arse left right and centre. Haven't even watched any films on TV recently, I'm just too tired after work to concentrate on anything longer than ...

Re: Whit's fur tea?

Tesco do a nice toad in the hole meal, four sausages in a massive Yorkshire pudding.

What I do is I half it and halve one half one day and the other half the next day or the day after.

Re: Workplace Hates

Not yet Boxer, no. I'm keeping it under my hat for the moment, but believe me if anything like that happens again words will be had with the Health and Safety Executive. Possibly also the polis and the local paper as well. I was up in Perth at the weekend there, and spoke to my medic mate about it. ...
