deano, the picture is of Govanhill Park (bounded by Govanhill St, Langside Rd, Coplaw St & Inglefield St). Assuming this is the correct Park I think you could be thinking of what we knew as the "Old Men's Club". This was a white building at the Inglefield St gate (opposite Preston St)...

Forgot to add, the White house / shed was at the main entrance of the park, right in the centre of Govanhill!!!!

I can remember walking from pavement & up the stairs into Gee Gee's (the dancing), I'm convinced that's where Waxy's now is, although I stand to be corrected Waxy O'Connor's (or whatever) is where Gigi's was. It's just a new build. So stand corrected. Sort of. :-) Turns out that is correct, Dad...

Hi there folks.....can anyone remember when the "dancing" Gee Gee's closed down, our group used to go there 1982/83 quite a lot (I think it's now Waxy Connels) & what was it's name changed to after Gee Gee's
