The practice survives on some recepticles for such ill fluids: often for example Stella artois is served in a glass ident...

Botanic Station etc

Great thread, long may it live! ALthough I love the idea of the tunnel walks and the "dig" on the botanics station; i would love it all to reopen with something more sensible than the Edinbra' ( capital by fortuity only) tram cock up! Are there any photos of the exploration of the Hillhead...

A lot of the Heilindirs used to meet in the Park Bar. I also have memories of many a good night. :D Myself and a good few ...

Re: North British Loco Company Demise

I also heard that the North British Locomotive Company were the victim of some unfortunate translation. As previously mentioned they were forced to use the German MAN engines, and these I was told were built under what was little short of a form of War reparation. Because of this, MAN were not coop...

Re: Is this Glaswegian, Doric or Highland Gaelic?

At the battle of standford bridge in 1066, the different "languages" functioned more like dialects and the english could trade insults across the myre with the danish / norsk mercenary army assembled to invade from the north. Lowland scotland was Cymric speaking until some point around vik...
