Does anyone have a picure of a Western SMT bus as in the Glasgow to Johnstone run circa 1955, 1959, 1966, 1971 that I can use on my facebook site for a short story I am doing for my grandkids on facebook? If anyone has one of the Johnstone SMT bus company garage in 66 a double kiss. :roll:

There is an umberrela stand at Glasgow Women's Library on Berkely Street which is said to have been painted by the Suffragettes at Duke Street Prison. Shall I take a picture and send it to you? :)

:o Thankyou that site is amazing I need more time to go through it all but it brought back some great memories of the Johnstone to Glasgow bus then crossing Glasgow bridge for the tram on up to Springburn Road Them were the days.

Thankyou, the orbit I will enjoy most is the first one when virgin space brings space travel down to the price of Mr average and Mrs modest and I can gape at the canal from the moon. You might like to consider re-opening the canal in theese days of high uneployment in Paisley and Johnstone I can think of nothing more inviting than a sail down the old canal in a wooden horse drawn barge. The Johnstone end of the canal ended around Canal Street at the bottem of John Lang street according to Derek Parker who wrote a History of Elderslie. The people from Johnstone were going into Paisley and vice versa Part of it can still be seen at the East end of Johnstone clipping the railway line....
