Stobhill Hospital

I always thought there was a rail link into Stobhill itself, just before you get to Casualty? http://www.flashearth.com/?lat=55.894218&lon=-4.220722&z=17.6&r=0&src=msl There's a 1 storey deep hole by the side of the clock tower, under the small bridge. Sadly, no secret tunnel though....

Re: Glasgows Cobbled Streets and Lanes

I seem to remember my folks telling me that the cobbles from Glasgows streets were reused when some parts of Lenzie were being built in the 50s. Certainly, there are cobble-like garden walls and paths all over Oak Drive, and Moss Road.

2CV

Found this rusty old 2CV through a hole in a fence, off a wee alleyway in the west end last summer...

Looks rather sad to me. :(

OK, my bad. I've been getting over zealous with Google earth again. Should have made it my new years resolution to stop using it so much! ::): Cheers for putting me right guys.

Presumably these future rail expansion plans are already stuffed due to the lowering of the Clydeside Expressway for Glasgow Harbour, which results in the concrete box tunnel under the expressway to be filled in, severing the link for any future rail line between the site Tesco wants and the old L&...

Right, anyone fed up with me posting question after question yet? ::): I'd just like to say that Google earth is awesome - I'm spending way too much time comparing it to old maps, when I should be looking for a flat! Anyway, I've found another tunnel which I haven't seen mentioned anywhere on here b...

Ah right. My mate Chris and I took a wander up the Yorkhill one a couple of months ago, and it seemed to be the same size as the entrance at the Exhibition Center tunnel, before it splits in 2. Must just be quite deceptive then.

Cheers James!

The in-tunnel junction http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v113/james73/kelvingrove_tunnel_SECC_01s.jpg Interesting. For some reason I had always thought that the junction was a lot more compact than this. It's always puzzled me how the 2 smaller tunnels there are only wide enough for a single track,...

Re: Lost In Translation

Just watched this fine film (got it from Santa). The soundtrack is tremendous. The Jesus and Mary Chain ripped off The Velvet Underground in a good Scottish East Kilbridie kinda way. :D It had a soundtrack?? I remember there was an awful lot of silent bits in that film, where nothing would be said ...
